Up & Coming

In 1976 we had the most fantastic holiday with John & Viv in their beautiful home in Don Mills.  They were amazing hosts and took us everywhere - it was fabulous!

Pete was a keen squash player at the time and John suggested that he organised a game for him at the Donaldo Club which he duly did.  I remember arriving at the squash courts and being introduced to a very fit man (in every sense of the word - this guy had the most amazing blue eyes!!!) and if memory serves, he was called Guido - but I have to confess I was more interested in the visual impact rather than the name!!!!!!

After the first game, which Pete lost 9-0 John very mischievously confessed "Well I knew Guido was up and coming, I just didn't realise he'd come up so far!".

It turned out that he was about to take part in a County (or whatever the Canadian equivalent is) Championship.

I remember John and I giggling uncontrollably then overly cheering on the rare occasion when Pete scored a point  (and, of course, feeling very sorry for Pete!!!  After all he was my husband and John's nephew!)

When we got back to the house we got a royal telling off from Viv for finding the massacre so entertaining - Pete slept most of that afternoon!  He's fine now thanks!!

When someone close to you becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure.  We will always treasure our memories.

Enormous love from Pete, Viv and Adam
