Dear Cheryl, Heather, Dan and little Patrick, I am deeply saddened by the loss of such a wonderful, caring man. Condolences to the entire family. I hired Rick at ScotiaBank and had the honour of getting to know him and his gentle caring ways for the past 5 years. Rick started at Scotia on February 14th, 2011 and he would joke and remind me frequently that he was my "sweetheart hire". He was always passionate, loyal and loved his work. Nothing lit up his face more than to speak of his children, little Patrick and his first lady, Cheryl. He was so proud of you all. He touched so many people throughout the Caribbean and certainly taught us so much about the business. I have many great "memories" working with Rick which I will cherish forever. Even though putting these words down on paper brings tears to my eyes, the memories always put a smile on my face. I am so sorry, Cheryl, that I cannot be with you and your family and to share many other stories of the gentle, soft spoken man. Rest in peace my dear friend. Barb Newhouse (Dominican Republic)
