Obituary for Kathy Pahl

PAHL, Kathy
May 12, 1957 – October 6, 2017
Passed suddenly and peacefully on October 6, 2017. Loving partner of Ruth for 29 years. Loving sister to Rob (Sue), aunt to Alexandra (Jordan), Samantha (Ken), Nicole, and Danielle, and great aunt to Cameron and Emerson. Kathy will be remembered for her dry sense of humour, storytelling and her love for everything green that she saw as being unique and different. She was devoted to and loved her Siamese Cat Chesney and was known at home to be “the outside mommy”, always the one to watch Chesney as he explored nature. She loved Orr’s Island, Maine and her close and loving friendships with Stan, Ginny and their family. After her home she considered this to be her second most favourite place. Kathy was a devoted aunt, always willing to deal with a cold arena for a hockey game, stand in the rain to watch rugby and endure long high school musical events, not without a clever quip or two.Kathy was a spectacular person with high intellect and great curiosity. She was a voracious reader and had been known to read up to 6 books at a time, mostly mysteries and anything to do with world politics. Kathy had spent many years working with people with disabilities and although she went on to become a master gardener her close ties to her first vocation remained. As a master gardener, Kathy had the unique ability to quickly connect with her clients and co-create a beautiful garden for them. The gardens she created and maintained are her legacy, she made the world a more beautiful place.A celebration of her life will occur at Willow Springs Winery, 5572 Bethesda Road, Stouffville on Thursday, October 26 from 4-7 pm. Condolences may be left at www.dixongarland.com.
In recognizing her love of everything green and her support of those with disabilities, in lieu of flowers donations to New Leaf Living and Learning Together will be appreciated. www.newleaf.ca
