Obituary for Keith Johnston

JOHNSTON, Keith (Harry) –
Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Southlake Regional Hospital, Newmarket on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of Eleanor for 70 years. Loving father of Brent (Linda), Janet (Stephen) and Susanne (Ron). Proud grandfather of Brenna, Melanie, Jeremy, Julia, Sarah, Matthew, Rebecca and great grandfather of 6. Keith served 2 years overseas in the Second World War. Upon returning, he married the love of his life. Most of his working years were spent as a master carpenter, custom home builder and with various developers. Having lived in Markham for over 52 years, Keith was a Past Master Markham Lodge A.F. & A.M. No. 87 G.R.C. and Past Worthy Patron Markham Chapter O.E.S. No. 155. In his leisure he enjoyed spending time with family and friends whether it be at the family cottage in Bobcaygeon or cruising. In recent past Keith also enjoyed the “coffee club” get together with his buddies. A special thank you to the doctors and nurses at Southlake Regional Hospital for their care and attention. Friends will be received at the Dixon-Garland Funeral Home, 166 Main Street N. (Markham Road), Markham on Thursday, May 4, 2017 from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday from 11 a.m. until time of Memorial Service in the Chapel at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
