An Inspiration: Matthew Gives Back to the Community

Thank you for welcoming Debora and myself into your home on Friday for such a comforting converstaion. Our visit lasted hours but seemed like mintues. I  will cherish the memory as a career highlight. I have one more story to share. Matthew was the inspiration of a tradition in the MECClass. Each day during "calendar time" Matthew would be prompted to move his arm to ring a "bell bracelet" when he heard the day of the week it happended to be during a song. By late fall he and his classmate, Christopher, were getting good at this. Early December, the malls were filled with the same sound...Salvation Army bell ringing. Needless to say, we signed the MECClasses up to volunteer at a donation kettle in Markville Mall. We are sure Matthew and his classmates brought in record amounts of donations durng their shift! Listen for us next year.
