Condolence From: Judy and Terry Kennedy
Condolence: Dear Jean and Family, Please accept our condolences on Karl's passing. We are in the southern USA and will be unable to join you and many others in remembering him this Saturday. Karl was a leader of immense professional and personal skills whose contributions to education meant so much to so many. Karl was always committed to bringing interested parties and stakeholders together in order to resolve difficulties. He was prepared to listen to others' input and to search for creative solutions where none appeared to exist. His energy levels were truly legendary and he would outwork all others in the hours invested but also in the determination to find an answer. The result was so often a balance between idealism and pragmatism as he led the way to what was possible. One of Karl's greatest gifts was the ability to inspire others to have confidence in their own abilities in order to be prepared to stretch themselves professionally. This talent was largely responsible for Karl managing to lead the North York Board of Education to its levels of excellence as a true 'lighthouse' system providing a beacon for others to follow, both provincially and nationally. It was our privilege to know Karl, to have the opportunity work with him, and know that we grew personally and professionally as a direct result of the experience. Sincerely, Judy and Terry Kennedy
