Jeni ( nee Bobinski ) Nihda passed away peacefully at Sunrise Retirement Home in Unionville, (after living with Alzheimer’s ), on December 30th, 2015 in her 84th year. Beloved wife of James and mother to Chris, Rick, and Jeffrey ( pre-deceased son ), Jeni will be sorely missed by daughters-in-law Barbara and Tracy, grandchildren Kelly and Amber, Taylor, Lauren and Ashlyn, sister-in-law Elizabeth, along with her sisters Mary, Helen, Dianne, and their families. Jeni was born in Toronto to parents Stanley and Frances Bobinski on January 3rd, 1931. She grew up in Toronto and Ottawa, moving to North York with James to start their family. Moves to Markham, Stouffville and Unionville followed. Jeni studied photography at York University. Her artistic flair showed in her beautiful gardens and paintings. She liked travelling and learning. She was the “Rock of Gibraltar” for her family while James travelled on business for weeks at a time. She was hands-on during the building of the family home and cottage with James. A private gathering of close family and closest friends will be held on Tues. January 5th, 2016, starting with a visitation at 10AM, and followed immediately by a celebration of Jeni’s life at 11AM at Dixon-Garland funeral home in Markham, Ontario. Immediately following the liturgy, Jeni will be laid to rest with her son Jeffrey at Holy Cross Cemetery, located at 8361 Yonge Street (just south of Hwy 407 ), followed by a lunch at ( TBA ).
